So guess what, an online shop called BriansClub, that sells about 26 million stolen debit and credit numbers just got hacked itself. (I know, ironic right) That not all, the stolen cards numbers was said to have been tainted (damaged) in the process.
It took BriansClub more than four years to acquired their over 26 million stolen card numbers from stores online and physical retail stores.
According to cybersecurity reporter, Brian Krebs, last month he was sent a file which contained BriansClub entire database of stolen cards.
Kreb later wrote that “All of the card data stolen from BriansClub was shared with multiple sources who work closely with financial institutions to identify and monitor or reissue cards that show up for sale in the cybercrime underground.”
I guess this also goes to show that the saying “No system is safe” might have a chance of actually being true. The surprises doesn’t end there, it was also reported that BriansClub was actually named after Brian Kreb as some sort of joke.
BriansClub also made it very clear that they do refunds, so if your card number happens to be invalid you’re gonna get a refund immediately.
