In an exclusive interview with vogue magazine she said “The White House called me to advise to help change the system of clemency.” (For those wondering, yes the US president has the power to grant clemency to anyone convicted under the federal law).
She added saying “I’m sitting in the Roosevelt Room with, like, a judge who had sentenced criminals and a lot of really powerful people and I just sat there, like, Oh – I need to know more, I would say what I had to say, about the human side and why this is so unfair. But I had attorneys with me who could back that up with all the facts of the case.”
Making this career change is gonna be a huge deal and also a huge step for her after spending literally all her life under the spotlight of fame. She said she had to think long and hard about the step she was about to take, but said it was worth risking and wanted to do more.
“It was never one person who gets things done; it’s always a collective people, and I’ve always known my role, but i just felt like i wanted to be able to fight for people who have paid their dues to the society,” she says.
There are also some priorities attached to the apprenticeship which includes kim carrying out 18 hours of supervised study each week.
Alice Marie was sentenced for life since 1996 for cocaine trafficking😯Her time was not completely revoked per say but rather her sentence was swapped for a lighter one and was released immediately due to the time already served.
Another case which kim has intervened with for justice was that of Cyntoia Brown in 2017 involving other celebrities too. Cynthia Brown was also jailed for life since 2006 at age 16 (did you get that, 16yr), for shooting a man to death after she was solicited for sex.
But after the intervention of kim and other stars like Rihanna and LeBron james, she was released earlier this year.
So sooner than later we should be expecting to see kim with mostly law related people and should be leaving the spotlight for her sisters.
