So as we all know, the Tech world is mostly dominated by men and women make up just a small percent of this. It really difficult to find a woman dominating when there are men around, but if you do find one,they are usually one in a million.

So without further ado, let dive right into it. Here are the top 5 women whose name appear whenever you talk about women running Tech.

5. Marissa Mayer – CEO, Yahoo

Marissa Mayer has been the woman incharge of the search company Yahoo, for seven years now, she was former exec and spokesperson for search engine giant Google, and in 2013 was among the Time 100 list

In 2014 She was also ranked 16th on fortunes list of most powerful businesswoman in the world.

4. Meg Whiteman – CEO, Hewlett-Packard

For Meg i will say she’s a woman with lots of experience, she has worked for several high-profiled companies over her career.

Starting with being the vice president of strategic planning at Walt Disney in 1980, to working for DreamWorks and Hasbro. She even served as the CEO of eBay in 2008.

In 2014 she ranked 20th on forbes list of 100 most powerful women in th world.

3.Ginni Rometty – CEO, IBM

Ginni being one of those who first began IBM, she has held some very interesting roles in the company over the past couple of years.

In 2011 her hard work paid off as she was appointed as the CEO and president of IBM. For Ginni, being listed on Fortune’s magazine was like a yearly routine as she was featured on it for ten consecutive years. (Bawse…) she even took the top spot for three years, 2012, 2013 and 2014

Susan’s journey began at Google, when she first became their marketing manager to Vice president. She was the one who perpetrated or rather led the initiative to acquire YouTube.

She was also the one who led the company to acquire DoubleClick for a whooping $3.1 billion.(seems like she has this thing with successful acquisitions)

She was put incharge of the two acquisitions which was by that time Google’s biggest acquisitions. But after seeing her effort and motive for the company, Susan was appointed the CEO of YouTube in 2014.

When you talk about the most influential, motivational or even powerful women in tech, the list is never complete without the mention of Sheryl Sandberg.

She was the first woman on the Facebook’s board of directors in 2012, also at that same time, prior to her role at Facebook Sheryl was also the Chief of Staff for the U.S. Secretary of Treasury.

As time went on she was noticed by Google and was employed to serve as their Vice President of Global online Sales and Operations. (She is the epitome of influential and powerful women in tech and in general)

Sheryl is currently worth over $1 billion and has made Time’s 100 Most influential people list several times. (She is worth being a role model for lots of women)
