It not only faces, the technology is said to also monitor the students while they’re writing, sleeping or reading. They use the students records or data to pay for things like canteen launches.
According to the school’s principal, the students privacy were protected because the images were all saved on a local server in the school and not the cloud. (That doesn’t still mean it safe though)
