Zhuo started at Facebook as an intern when it was still at it early stages 10 years ago, At that time Facebook was said to have just 100 employees.
If you work at Facebook or have ever attended an interview at Facebook, then you should know that Zhou is a lady that does not mess around with her interviews.
Zhou has been among those who carry out interviews on people willing to work at Facebook.
But there’s one question she believes sums it all up during an interview, and the question gies like this;
First she’s gonna ask you to tell her about a challenging situation or period in your life that you encountered during your career.
After telling her the whole story she’s gonna then ask you a follow-up question, if you were to revisit that experience, what you do differently
According to her “i love that question because it allows me to hear a candidate and they introspect. The worst answer you could ever give Zhou is that you’d do nothing differently or that everything was out of your control. She considers that very wrong. (Plus obviously you ain’t getting that job)
But giving her Lots of things you could do if you were given a second chance is what she wants, she even said it herself that “I get really excited about that candidate because they’re showing lots of productivity.
She has also reached out to other hiring mangers, advising them to always think strategically during hire. She also said that CEOs should not be too fast in plugging the holes with anyone who can do the job.
