So stratolaunch, the world’s largest airplane on Saturday took the skies for the first time ever.
The plane which was said to have been a historic milestone was started at the Mojave Air and Space port in California and cruised the sky for over 2.5 hours.
It reached an altitude of 5,200 meters at a maximum speed of 189 mph. To put the size of this monster plane into perspective, let say if you were to drop the plane on a football pitch, it wings would span would reach across each end zones.
After the test flight, the massive bird finally returned to the ground safely. The airplane was founded in 2011 with a vision for airplane-style access to space, which is good and serves as an alternative to the native ground-based space launch rocket system.🚀
But it was sad because paul Allen who was the founder of the company wasn’t alive to witness all his hardwork finally pay off.😢
