So Arkup a housing startup has just revealed it ingenius first ever floating house at the yatch show in miami. Climatologists have pointed to the city as one most vulnerable areas to climate change.
Well as you would expect, such ingenius does not come cheap. The floating house comes with a price tag of $6 millilon although the company has plans to make smaller and cheaper versions. The company is currently accepting offers on its first model, as well as future models that have yet to be built.
The house/yatch comes with a solar powered roof and a hydraulic anchoring system. Co-founder of the company Arnaud Luguet said “We wanted to provide the next generation of floating homes or house boats that would be self-sufficient, sustainable, and also mobile,” the homes contain four bedrooms and it also mobile so you can always move to new locations, due to the fact that it solar powered the yacht has zero emission which makes it more awesome.
The company is also interested in creating more affordable models, such as a floating complex of student homes. Derouin said Arkup is looking into building a “ranch” of smaller yachts that are each around 1,600 square feet. By building smaller. I guess soon we would be seeing an entire neigborhood of floating homes.
