So SumUp, the U.K based financial technology company that allows small businesses to receive payments in a cost-effective way, just acquired Shoplo the Poland-based multichannel e-commerce platform.
Shoplo which was founded in 2012 and has since been led by Patryk Pawlikowski as CEO, the multichannel e-commerce platform allows small businesses to start selling online. The company with just 30 employees currently supports over 3,000 online store in Europe.
Shoplo on the other hand is being led by Marc-Alexander Christ and serves as a technology company that allows businesses of all sizes to receive payments, both in-store and online. In october of 2018 the company released its 3G reader, a card terminal that lets merchants process payments without the need for a mobile app or constant Wi-Fi connection.
It acquisition of shoplo will serve to expand to it over 1 million active users worldwide offering online features such as international shipping, chat functionality, invoicing and payments, as well as a multi-channel capability which enables merchants to sell on different marketplaces – such as Facebook, eBay or Etsy – all from within one central dashboard.
