So porshe has been thinking of “upping” it production of the taycans it first all electric car, But it now sounds like they are still aiming for 20,000 units the first year – though they think it’s conservative.
Remember a few months back it was reported that that porshe wanted to increase the capacity of production of it taycans, later on it was reported that they wanted to double production to 40,000 units per year. Now, Porsche has released a new interview with Albrecht Reimold, the German automaker’s head of production, about the progress at the Zuffenhausen factory to bring both the Taycan and the new 911 to production.
When asked if they could use the production capacity of the Taycan for the 911 if the electric vehicle proves not to be as popular as planned, Reimold answered:
“Yes, we have the technical capacity to do that; but we are absolutely certain that it won’t be required. Based on feedback from the market, the calculation of 20,000 Porsche Taycan models in the first year may be a rather conservative estimate. I’ve had the pleasure of driving the car myself, and I can only say it’s absolutely fantastic! Which is the response we’ve been hearing from all sides.”
