So volvo’s polestar on wednesday introduced it first all-electric vehicle, it a five-door fastback that is gunning for the Tesla Model 3.
The vehicle comes with two electric motors and a 78 kilowatt-hour battery pack that has an estimated EPA range of about 275 miles, it runs on an all-wheel drive electric powertrain producing 300 kW or 408 horsepower and 487 lb-ft of torque. It capable of going from 0-62mph in less than 5sec.
The Polestar 2’s infotainment system is run by android os which gives it the ability to incorperate it embedded services like Google maps, Google assistant, and even Google’s playstore all in the car(Awesomeeee…).
The polester 2 is reported to also run a “phone-as-key” technology which means customers would be able to unlock their car remotely using thier phone(Did u just hear that “unlock your car using your phone” 😎🔐🔓), it dont just unlock but literally opens the door(what..).
I guess you guys ain’t expecting this car to come so cheap, it has a base price of $45,389.
But dont get all hyped up and excited yet, Production of the Polestar 2 will begin in early 2020 at its Chengdu, China factory. The company is initially targeting sales in China, the U.S., Canada and a handful of European countries that include Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and the UK.
They said they are also gonna be ditching dealership, and would offer their customers subscription for their cars online. The company’s first vehicle, the Polestar 1, was unveiled in September. The Polestar 1 is not a pure electric vehicle; it’s a plug-in hybrid with two electrical motors powered by three 34 kilowatt-hour battery packs and a turbo and supercharged gas inline 4 up front.
The company also said it next vehicle the polestar 3 would be an all-electric “performance SUV.”
