So Microsoft has just come out to say that it Outlook.com security breach was worst than we even expected.
In a notification message sent to users, the company said that the hackers could have accessed some emails, subject lines and folder names. They later even admitted that some email content might have been viewd by the hackers.
According to Motherboard, it revealed on sunday that Microsoft sent different notification massages to about six percent of the affected users. Motherboard also claims that the hackers have had access to accounts of affected users for a while now, say for up to six months now.
On the other hand Microsoft have come out to deny the claims saying that “the 6 months claim was inaccurate.” Also saying that all the outlook.com accounts that were affected received the notification.
A Microsoft spokesperson in a report said that “Our notification to the majority of those impacted noted that bad actors would not have had unauthorized access to the content of e-mails or attachments.”
Microsoft have refused to give any opinion about the number of accounts hacked or if the breach has been resolved, but if anything comes up Techcopp would be among the first to get the news so stick around for updates on the news.
