Mazda has just reported that an “incorrect programming” in their all new Smart Braking System (SBS) caused their vehicles to falsely detect objects in it path and automatically apply the brakes.
Mazda owners in trouble
It scary because this issue is said to have affected over 35,300 2019 and the 2020 model cars, that is over 35,300 Mazda vehicle owners in the United States are driving with a glitch in their car’s software. (That some scary stuff)
But not to worry, if the glitch ever happens the driver is gonna be aware because the car is gonna come to a sudden stop with the alarms ringing.😥
But don’t get your hopes up yet as some reddit users has said that they have experienced the glitch with the auto brakes coming on even when nothing is in their path. And even though you can turn of the system, it was also reported that the system re-enables itself.😨
Mazda has responded to the issue saying that they would send out mail to car owners by February 17th next year, or if you don’t get the mail you could contact them personally for more info.
