So the Los Angeles fire department (LAFD) battalion chief Richard Field, said in a report that he is planning on doubling the department’s drone fleet just five months after their partnership with DJI.
The fire department which already owns 11 drones said the new ones was gonna be for special purposes such as urban search and rescue to maybe water rescues.
The average LAFD drone pilot gets about 80 hours of training which is far more than any commercial drone pilot. This goes to show how close we are getting in the future of firefighting. Just recently we saw Alphabet’s Wings use drones to deliver packages to residents of the United States.
