So lime co-founder Brad Bao was with The verge lately and was asked some questions concerning what next for the company and how they are working to encourage people to use helmets when riding.
He said that they are doing everything humanly possible to see that safety is their no.1☝ priority before anything else. He also said that they even launched a Respect the Ride campaign where they gave or rather devoted a whooping $3 million for marketing, outreach and education. They also went on to give away over 250,000 to the society.👏
But that was just on the hardware side, now coming to the technological aspect, Brad said that as at right now their tech team are working on a tech that can detect any sort of irregular riding or even detect when you’re riding under the influence of Alcohol.🍺
When asked if the scooter had a breathalyzer, for knowing when someone is drunk or so, he said no they don’t. Rather they are gonna be making use of the scooter’s movement to know when something is wrong. Like for example whenever the scooter’s sensors detect a wobbly movement which is not normal, it automatically slows down.
Although the tech has not been launched yet but he said they are currently working on it and would be implementing it soon.
