So the largest military base in the United States fort Bragg, was left without power for as long as 12 hours, wth no clue about why the power was cut off the entire base was filled with confusion.
Later this week the men in charge extended their apology, saying they were responsible for the outage and was just testing to see the soldiers reaction in case of a cyber attack. (Seriously dude?)
Power at the base went off at around 10PM EST on Wednesday and was restored on Thursday afternoon, during the time of the total blackout, there was traffic jam at the area, and lots of confusion at the scene as everyone was surprised why the power went off.
According to their post on their official Facebook page, the US army said the test was to “determine the resilience of the installation in a real-world scenario. With that said, our objectives have been met and as many of you know, everything is back to normal.”
Just so you know, Fort Bragg ain’t just your normal average military base, this base holds over 500,000 soldiers and it also home to the iconic US XVII Airborne corps.
It also has stores, hotels and restaurants. The base is considered a town of it own and any possible attack on it could cause some serious damage.
