Lunar landing is one of the most difficult space task to carry out, this is because of the absence or little atmosphere on the moon. There for spacecrafts can’t use a parachute fo landing, they have to rely on thrust.

There are only three nations which have successfully carried out a soft lunar landing, these are china, US and the Soviet Union. India would have made it the fourth nation but they were unfortunate.
