So the the USS Gerald R. Ford is actually a new and the latest addition to the U.S Navy’s fleet, it spans 256 feet in width and 1,092 feet long. It was commissioned in the year 2017 and is currently the largest in the world.
The massive carrier which was named in honour of former President Gerald R. Ford has an all new and advanced weapons elevators connecting it with the flight deck.
The USS Gerald R. Ford also comes equipped with a number of Short-range anti-aircraft missiles called Sea Sparrows. Oh and also the USS Gerald bathrooms do not have urinals.
There’s also something called the Integrated Catapult Control System (ICCS) or bubble, where a control officer fires or catapult the jets when they get the clear from the signalmen. There are also a number of jets on the ship like the E-2C Hawkeye, F/18 Hornet and squadrons.
