The investigation was carried out after a graduate researcher from the University of California said she turned of her location on her device, but still received a notification asking her to rate a shopping trip to Kohl’s.
Although Google asks for permission to use your location service, but your answer does not even matter because either way they still do what they want.
According to Google’s support page, it states that ” you can turn off Location History at any time. With Location History off, the places you go are no longer stored.”but i guess that just blabber talk now.
The report came with some tangible proof like the illustration of the commute of Gunes Acer, who is a Princeton privacy Researcher. The report says that even with his location turned off on his phone, the map pinpoints exactly where he traveled and saves the data to his Google account. (So much for privacy)😂
So next time Google asks for your permission to use Location, just click whatever you like because it doesn’t matter anymore what you click.
