So google has said it planning on investing an insane $13B on data centers and offices across the US. It claims it a way it using to pave way for hiring tens of thousands of employees, according to a blog post from CEO Sundar Pichai on Wednesday.
He also noted that this will be the second time google is growing “faster outside of the Bay Area than in it.”
On a conference call with analysts after the Alphabet earnings report in February, Pichai said investing in data centers is necessary to “lay the groundwork” for its bets on cloud computing, advertising, YouTube and machine learning.
Well i guess they are gonna be ready to face some challenges that are not that of their usual silicon valley, although it does plan to double it workforce in virginia and according to the blog post. It also previously announced plans to invest more than $1 billion to double its workforce in New York City.
Amazon, meanwhile, is planning to hire tens of thousands of workers in both Virginia and New York City as part of its office expansion — assuming it doesn’t retreat from the latter( now that competition). Let just hope they are able to keep up with the competition cause it not gonna be easy.
