So as you would expect, facebook is doubling down on it efforts to see that non if it social platforms are utilized in any way to affect this India elections.
In a blog post by the managing director and vice president of Facebook’s India operations Ajit Mohan, he said that using AI and ML(Machine learning), they have been able to block and remove one million accounts a day.
In the blog post he wrote “As Facebook continues to play a larger role in civic discussions and debate, we are committed to working hard to prevent abuse on our services, especially during elections.”
There are human fact checkers also in play. The partnership with seven accredited fact-checking organisation, Facebook is able to cover content in eight different languages — English, Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Gujarati that it believes to be the most commonly used online.
Just last week alone the social media giants wiped or rather removed nearly 700 pages from Facebook which were mostly congress related.
There have been lots of attempts by Indians to try and rig or find a way to alter their elections on social media but all media giants have taken precautions and are ready and set to control them all.
