Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram Outage Shows How Powerful Mark Zuckerberg is

At around 16:00 GMT on Monday, October 4, a massive lot of smartphone users were all left dumbfounded as Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp all went down. It can be recalled that this is the second time the Facebook inc services is going down in 2021.

WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook Down

At first it seems like a telecom issue but as the problem lasted, smartphone users began worrying. I can bet you most people restarted their devices, checked their internet, and some even testing out Google.

As it lasted we realized it a Facebook problem with people posting on other socials asking if anyone was able to access the Facebook, Instagram or WhatsApp.

We were all left with no other option but to go primitive like making normal phone calls, and reading the papers. (I Know, that so primitive right!!)

Fortunately, after about 7 hours of living in the primitive times, the downtime was fixed with Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg apologizing for the “internal technical issue.”

In his words, Mark Zuckerberg said ” Sorry for the disruption today. I know how much you rely on our services to stay connected with the people you care about.” (That all he had to say? I read the newspaper Mark!!)

After the social blackout which affected over 3.5 billion people, rumours began airing suggesting that Mark lost $6 billion just for the brief downtime. (insane right)

Now whether the tech billionaire actually lost $6 billion or not is quite not important right now. What we should concern ourselves with is the amount of power it goes to show the American tech boss controls.

The 3 apps blackout just landed Mark Zuckerberg on the board of Planet Earth Power Holders.” (Not a real thing but deal with it)

Now just to hype the tech company a bit. Facebook currently has a market cap of more than $1 trillion and an active user base of 2.8 billion monthly. (Madt ha!!)

Now the above is just for Facebook, Instagram on the other hand is valued at $100 billion with 1.3 billion monthly users.

We all know of how Mark Zuckerberg acquired WhatsApp for a mind blowing $1billion which at that time was the most expensive. The popular messenger app is valued at $5 billion with 1.6 billion monthly users.

In just less than 7 hours a single individual was able to put almost half the Earth’s population in panic, if you think about it you’ll see that we’re kinda in a dip [email protected] as users.
