Yes you heard it right, Facebook on Tuesday announced that they are acquiring virtual reality games studio Beats Games, into their own Oculus.
According to Facebook, Beat Games would still run as an independent company but will now get some additional support from the social media giant.
Beat Saber has been topping the VR category on Valve’s Steam Store, and now Facebook has joined head together with them to create the Oculus Quest.
According to Facebook, their main reason for acquiring Beat Games was because they have a “strong team with proven potential across VR, games and music.
They went on to say that “What the community has come to love about Beat Saber will remain intact. Facebook and the Beat Games team know that there is so much more that can be done across VR, games, and music. They have only scratched the surface with Beat Saber in terms of social features, new modes, music and more.”
