So DoorDash on Thursday reported that it was hit by a massive breach of security which unfortunately affected nearly 5 million users.
DoorDash just got hacked
According to DoorDash the breach was caused by a third-party who gained unauthorized access to the DoorDash’s system. Information which was stolen included names, phone numbers, email addresses and even physical addresses of customers.
The third-party only had access to information of users who joined the company on or before April 5th 2018.
Although the information which was stolen is said to be encrypted using hashing and salting technique, but the company have advised users to reset their passwords as soon as possible just to be on the safer side.
It doesn’t end there, DoorDash said that even the last four digits of some consumer payment cards, and CVV security codes were also stolen. (Now that bad)
Over 100,000 DoorDash driver’s license info were also compromised. In response to the incident, DoorDash said they have added some additional security protocols to protect it users data.
