So BMW has done it again, the first ever world’s blackest car and they did it with the help of Surrey Nano Systems and Levitation 29.
BMW makes the Bat mobile
The Vantablack coating which was used was created by Surrey Nano Systems and according to Levitation 29, the company which collaborated with Surrey Nano Systems and BMW, the coating absorbs as much as 99% of visible light making it look really black.
The effect of the absorption can be seen when you look at the car, the brain interpretes it making it look like a hole or just a void.
The project was said to take 10 months to complete from start to finish.
According to Levitation 29 Director, Benjamin Males” The First Vantablack car is certainly a big tick in the box when it comes to dream projects and opens the way for even more large-scale concepts – like a stadium!”
The car is so black that it looks like a two-dimensional object.
