Apple M1 Chip Is A Game Changer

Looking at the system broadly, it looks very similar to it Air predecessors with most of the changes done under the hood.

Following Apple’s number, the system should be 3.5x faster than previous models and should also be faster than 98% of laptops sold in 2019.

Still following Apple’s numbers, since the chip is built based on ARM it can run without the need for a cooling fan.

According to the fruit company, one of the largest benefits of this new chip is it battery efficiency. They claim on a single charge, the system could run for 15 hours while browsing the web and 18 hours of video playback. If these claims are right then It gonna be a huge ups for them.

Apple also claims that users can edit multiple streams of 4k ProRes video in Final Cut Pro. This is also the claim which people seems to be questioning.(I mean, talking about a fanless system).

It comes with no TouchBar, TouchID is present, but there was no upgrade to it’s webcam which would have been great because everyone is now moving to teleconferencing.

Two Thunderbolt/USB 4 ports, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. It could also be upgraded to 16GB and 2TB respectively.

Below are some of the improvements made which made the M1-powered MacBook Air more better and powerful than it previous models:

  • integrating 3D effects into video in Final Cut Pro is now 5x faster.
  • Exporting web projects using iMovie is 3x faster

  • Exporting photos to-and-fro Lightroom is now 2x faster.

  • Playback and multiple streams editing of 4K ProRes videos can now be done in Final Cut Pro without dropping a frame.

Extend FaceTime and other video calls for up to twice as long on a single charge.

Talking about the price, the system can be gotten for $999 or $899 if you’re a student.
