So this is a wierd and kinda funny incident. A fox has been confirmed dead in a henhouse after a fight with a gang of chickens. Everyone at the Gros-Chêne secondary school in Brittany were all left with their mouth open after they found the dead body of a fox with lots of peck marks.
It was later discovered that lots of chicken ganged up against the animal pecking it to death😞😜. The head of farming at the school Pascal Daniel, said that “There, in the corner, we found this dead fox, There was a herd instinct and they attacked him with their beaks.”
The poor animal was said to have surrounded and over-powered by about 3,000 chickens( “3,000” that quite a lot of chickens). Daniel also said that “It was a juvenile of 5 or 6 months, about 60cm long. He did not seem sick and in any case, he did not have scabies, The hens can arrive en masse and the fox, surprised, could panic in front of the number. The hens have been there since July, so for more than seven months and have probably learned to defend themselves.”
A wildlife expert at brittany said they were also “surprised” by the turn of events and that they have never seen anythinh like this before. They said: “There may be a group effect, but also other reasons – the fox was young so inexperienced. It could already be weakened, even injured, and we know that chickens will confront a weak animal with vigour.” So i guess it RIP for the fox.
